Israel on the Front Line…

Dear Lovers of Israel,

After spending some time yesterday with the soldiers near the border of Gaza, this letter comes to you on this Holy Shabbat when at 6 a.m. this morning Tel Aviv awakened to the sounds of sirens as Hamas continued their missile and rocket launches toward civilian targets in Israel.  We in Israel are thankful for the Iron Dome as it has once again intercepted and foiled Hamas’ attacks against Israeli citizens.  Israel is fighting a brutal fundamental terror organization named Hamas.  The world is making an effort to hide the simple TRUTH about the Muslim extremists who have sworn to kill both Jews and Christians “by the sword” and spread the Sharia law all around the world.  Although this is a simple TRUTH to many of you, the world has yet to grasp the full understanding.

There is one question to be asked this morning, “What do you think the USA (or any other country for that matter) would do if thousands of missiles and rockets were shot toward Los Angeles, Washington DC and New York City while at the same time hundreds of terrorists were moving underground to enter Manhattan and other cities in a planned-calculated attack through tunnels forged for the sole purpose to shoot and kill innocent people?”

Both the USA and the UN declared a ceasefire yesterday at 8 a.m. Israeli time.  Israel and Hamas both agreed to the cease-fire but 90 minutes into this humanitarian act a Hamas terrorist group attacked Israeli soldiers killing two of them and kidnapping an Israeli Officer name Hadar Goldin.  It must be made clear that this solider is not a prisoner of war.  Hamas is a terror organization who does not recognize the Geneva Conventions and does not adhere to the rights of Prisoners of War (POW).  Hadar’s abduction is to be a ransom to push Israel into releasing convicted Hamas murderers who committed tens and hundreds of terror attacks against Israelis since Hamas’ establishment 27 years ago.

My dear Lovers of Israel, Hamas leaders are saying that they (the Palestinians) love DEATH while we (the Israelis) love LIFE.  I think they are correct, however, I carry great compassion and sympathy for the people of Gaza who are forced to follow Hamas’ foolish belief that it can wipe Israel off the map so then (as Hamas says) “the Palestinians” can take over all of Israel.  Again, this would mean killing 7 million Jews.

In the last 10 years while the people of Gaza have had little or no hope or future because the money that is donated to the people for development is taken and siphoned to Hamas by Hamas’ leadership.  So much of it goes toward their construction and development of Hamas’ terror attack tunnels that lead from Gaza into Israel.  The great planned “mega” terror attack toward Israel was to occur on Rosh Hashanah the Jewish New Year.  Can you imagine 100 terrorists emerging out of each terror attack tunnel into the center of many Israeli Southern cities and villages simultaneously?  Israeli authorities have declared that this kind of “mega” terror attack could have ended with 10 to 20 thousand Israelis murdered in one night.  Can you understand the depth and magnitude of what I am saying to you?  This is in fact how brutal Hamas is.

The USA is extending and making extreme efforts to make peace in the Middle East, however, the Obama Administration is always looking at the current dramatic developments through a very narrow perspective of interests and either cannot, will not, or does not see the “Big Picture” where Muslim extremists are concerned.  The Muslim extremists are brutally attacking around the world in their efforts to kill and murder as many human beings as they are able to reach and will continue these attacks for as long as they are enabled by the world or until their goal is reached.  It is the same story with Al Qaeda in Pakistan, Taliban in Afghanistan, Boko Haram in Nigeria, ISIS in Syria and Iraq, Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in Gaza.  Today, the world still closes it eyes to all of this terror because of its brutality and because it has not reached Europe or the USA.  You must know that these same attacks will happen sooner or later and quicker than we can ever imagine if the World does NOT stop them.

I do have some good news to share with you today, Israel will prevail and Israel can clearly hear the pure voices in the Arab world.  Those who are cooperating with Israel for the first time in history, those being Egypt, Jordan and Saudi Arabia as they too are becoming more active in this battle, this fight, for the world freedom from terror.  We all know that God will never leave nor forsake His chosen people, for His purpose for Israel and His Word stands forever.

It is time for the world to wake-up and DO SOMETHING before it is too late for us all.  We all know and can see the darkness; however, there WILL BE a Great Light that will shine forth from all this darkness in the world today. “Arise, Jerusalem! Let your light shine for all to see. For the glory of the LORD rises to shine on you.” (Isaiah 60:1) Please join me in praying for Israel to prevail in this war against evil, but more importantly please pray for the world leaders to gain wisdom and insight to the enemy that threatens us all. “First of all, then, I counsel that petitions, prayers, intercessions and thanksgivings be made for all human beings, including kings and all in positions of prominence; so that we may lead quiet and peaceful lives, being godly and upright in everything. This is what God, our Deliverer, regards as good; this is what meets his approval.” (1 Timothy 2:1-3)

God bless you and yours from Israel, keep praying for the Israeli soldiers fighting right now on the front lines against terror on behalf of the entire world so we all can be free of terror.

Shabbat Shalom,

Message from the Founder: May 2014

Dear Lovers of Israel,

God Bless you from Zion!  I am writing to you from Jerusalem, the Eternal and Undivided capital of Israel.  Today Israel is mourning in remembrance of the loss of 23,169 soldiers who lost their lives in the battle for Israel’s independence and the many wars and battles since. We remember the fallen heroes every year – one day – before we start the celebrations of our year of Independence. Our tears of heartbreak are mingled with tears of joy and happiness.  We in Israel are celebrating our 66th “birth-day!”

The great miracle of rebirth of the Nation of Israel can be explained through God’s Holy Word.  God’s Holy Word was fulfilled the day the British mandate was terminated and the Nation of Israel was established.  Israel’s declaration proclaimed that day was that the State of Israel would ensure complete equality of social and political rights to all its inhabitants irrespective of religion, race or sex, and guaranteed freedom of religion, conscience, language, education and culture.

“Who ever heard of such a thing? Who has ever seen such things? Is a country born in one day? Is a nation brought forth all at once? For as soon as Zion went into labor, she brought forth her children.”  (Isaiah 66:8)

Freedom for the Jews from centuries of persecution came in the establishment of the State of Israel, but at a high cost.  In 1945, we lost 6 million Jews who were murdered by the Nazi regime.  Then in 1948, Israel who was only one day old was forced to protect herself against six different armies during the war of Independence.  The young Israeli nation lost 6,000 soldiers during this war, which at the time was about 1% of the total population that lived in the Holy Land.  By God’s divine destiny, Israel prevailed and miraculously survived and now 66 years later I am happy to share with you that 8.2 million Israelis are currently living in Israel, their eternal homeland, with Jerusalem as its capital.

“I will restore the fortunes of my people Israel; they will rebuild and inhabit the ruined cities; they will plant vineyards and drink their wine, cultivate gardens and eat their fruit.  I will plant them on their own soil, no more to be uprooted from their land, which I gave them,” says the Lord your God. (Amos 9:14-15)

Today, Israel has one of the best armies in the world with its Israel Defense Forces (IDF).  It has one of the strongest high tech markets in the world and within the last few years discovered gas in the Mediterranean Sea, off the coast of Israel, that would contribute tens of billions of dollars into the Israeli economy in the near future.

On this year’s great day of Independence, I kindly ask you all to keep praying for Israel and to always stand with her.  This would be the strongest and best response to all our enemies.

“I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing.  I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” (Genesis 12:2-3)

I send you Love and Blessings from Zion and I pray that our God will richly bless you, your family and your Nation according to His Word always remembering to Love Israel.

Until I write you again, Shalom, Shalom.

Keeping History Alive

Time has a tendency to erode as surely as the waves of the sea erode the sandy seashore.  This fact was brought home to me on a vacation trip to Hannibal, Missouri last summer.  My wife and I had a chance to tour the boyhood town of Samuel Clemens, better known as Mark Twain.  I put a coat of whitewash on the famous fence, and we saw the bedroom window out of which Tom Sawyer saw Becky Thatcher’s house.  It was a great time.

I looked at the visitor roster, though, and was taken aback.  The last time I was in Hannibal, in 1993, over 5,000 other visitors toured the site.  Last year, fewer than 500 Mark Twain fans had arrived by the middle of the year.  It has been over 150 years since Twain wrote “Tom Sawyer.”  Political and cultural concerns mean that his books aren’t taught in schools anymore.  About one more generation and Twain’s writing may be nearly lost to antiquity.  That would be a shame.

It has been almost 70 years since Allied forces liberated the concentration camps that stained the history of mankind.  An estimated 88% of the rescued victims of the Holocaust have since taken up a blessed eternal residence in the company of the Almighty.  The voices who say that there really never was a Holocaust raise their voices in strident misguided dissent.  It feels like that waves against the sand thing, doesn’t it?

LoveIsrael.com is committed to the concept that the memory of the Holocaust must never die. Through our partnership with “Survivor’s Hope,” LoveIsrael.com offers support and comfort to all who were touched by such senseless tragedy, as well as making sure that their stories aren’t lost to antiquity.

Last week I blogged on the topic of “Sometimes it really is for the children.”  As a society of Christian believers, indeed as human beings with a heart for justice and mercy, we must never forget these tragic statistics:

1.)   Six million Jews were murdered in the various concentration camps.

2.)   One and a half million of those victims were children.

3.)   Of the surviving children, 91% lost at least one parent during the war.

“Survivor’s Hope” is the light and love of Jesus Christ reaching out to those whose lives were so grievously changed by the power of hate.  It is a partnership that we at LoveIsrael.com hold in our hearts with an especially tight grip.  That’s because it is our way of expressing compassion for those who suffer so much.

“Suffer.”  Not “suffered.”  That’s a key distinction.  The blows, and worse, that were rained down upon our Jewish brothers and sisters didn’t end with the Allied liberation.  The scars, both literal and figurative, have never gone away.  Nor will they go away, until God takes His suffering children home.

Join with LoveIsrael.com and support the timeless work of “Survivor’s Hope.”  Shine a Christ-like beam of light into hearts that believed there would never be light again.

“Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.”  Psalm 82:4

The Force of Compassion

Ever wondered how you can touch the world? Ever wanted to do more and thought it impossible due to your own life situation? The Love of God has made a way since the beginning of time hidden within the power that lies within a seed.

Jesus speaks of a widow who gave an offering of two mites at the temple in the Gospels of Mark and Luke. That particular day many others gave much more than the widow but Jesus calls attention to her offering saying, she had put in more than all. Jesus said, “Assuredly, I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all those who have given to the treasury; for they all put in out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in all that she had, her whole livelihood.”

Surely, this certain widow could have used this money in her life. What motivated her to give without concern for herself? As she gave that day, scripture does not reveal what her needs were, nevertheless, we know God saw her needs and discerned her heart. Interestingly, Jesus brings attention to this nameless widow for us to see an example of a level of giving that is pleasing to God the Father. This story has been told for centuries and today we all wrestle with the pressures of giving and are constantly fighting off bombardments that try to paralyze our ability to move and respond to God.

Paul teaches in 1 Corinthians 3:7, that neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but it is God who gives the increase. Compassion is God’s force used to touch people’s lives.  Jesus walked this earth demonstrating the power that is released through the force of compassion.  God’s compassion is the very key to supernatural harvest in this natural world and it is our confirmation from Him of when to move and when to give. The widow gave when she was moved with compassion and this response moved Jesus to set her in history forever.  No one person can do everything and no one person can meet every need, but together as the Body of Christ we can reach out to people knowing God will multiple and bless our acts of obedience when we respond to His move of compassion.

LoveIsrael.com has through compassion chosen to support children sick with cancer and the elderly survivors of the Holocaust. Both the children and the elderly have limited resources: one is struggling to live life and the other is struggling live at the end of life. We ask those that Love Israel to pray and ask God what you can do out of your livelihood to touch a life. Then when the Holy Spirit moves with compassion within your heart, we encourage you to respond to that force and reach out and help these children and elderly as the Holy Spirit directs. Let’s live life as Jesus did responding to people when moved with compassion to heal and to bless.
