Message from the Founder Yom Ha’atzmaut 2016
Dear Lovers of Israel,
Greetings from Jerusalem as I write to you only a few days before the two most significant annual events in the life of our young nation: Memorial Day for the fallen soldiers of Israel on Wednesday followed by the 68th Independence Day celebration of our Nation on Thursday. Allow me to share my thoughts on these historical events.
The miracle of Israel’s Independence would never have been possible without the 23,477 soldiers who died protecting this beautiful nation their eternal ancient homeland. My heart breaks to see the many young men and women who perished in her defense, each of them a son or daughter of Israel.
Israel’s population has grown 10 times since 1948, starting with 850,000 in 1948 to 8.5 million in 2016. The Jewish people celebrate life in Israel, with 195,000 babies born this past year and 36,000 new Jewish immigrants came home to Israel. Israel is a safe home for almost 50% of the Jewish population around the world. As God continues to bring His people back to Zion, consider all the amazing miracles God has done for Israel in such a short period of time. Yet nothing is more miraculous then when He resurrected the Jewish people out of the ashes of 6 million Jews murdered during the Holocaust and gathered them back to their Promised Land. “I will accept you with your sweet aroma when I bring you out from the peoples and gather you out of the countries where you were scattered; and through you I will manifest my holiness in the sight of the nations.” (Ezekiel 20:41) Yet Israel still suffers many threats and difficulties after 68 years for there remains those who would see Israel and the Jewish people wiped off the Middle East map, but we thank God, for we celebrate a miracle–for Israel is once again a nation–reborn in a day. (Isaiah 66:8)
I want to recognize all Lovers of Israel, who have helped our Nation spiritually by showering the nation of Israel and the Jewish people with prayers and blessings. Truly, you are faithful watchmen on the walls of Jerusalem and this makes Israel’s Independence Day a feast of Joy for you as well. On behalf of Israel and the Jewish people, I want to personally thank you for your endless love, continuous support and your obedience to the Word of God. Together we enjoy the miracles that God has brought about on behalf of Israel and the Jewish people as today we watch our children as they run and play in the streets of Jerusalem. We are both witnesses to the resurrection of Jerusalem according to Bible prophecy. “The streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls playing in its streets.” (Zechariah 8:5)
Prayer is the most powerful weapon we have at our disposal as believers; I invite you to join me in a prayer of agreement over Israel and the Jewish people. As we lift Israel and the Jewish people up declaring, they will survive and they will continue to prosper for no weapon formed against them will prosper. Our faith in God and His Word will cause Israel to prevail. We stand anchored in hope, expecting the BEST is yet to come for Israel and for those who bless her, for by His Word we stand confident of His Will. “I will bless those who bless you, but I will curse anyone who curses you; and by you all the families of the earth will be blessed.” (Genesis 12:3)
God Bless you from Jerusalem,
Moshe Bar Zvi
