“Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

Thanksgiving is OUR Strength

“What if tomorrow you only had what you were thankful for today?” Stop and think for a minute. How often do we really thank God for what He has provided for us today, this very minute? If you are going through a tough time, it’s not that easy to just stop and give thanks. It seems like such an easy task when everything is going our way, yet the hardest thing to do when the waves are rough.

We have so much to give thanks for: food, family, work, shelter, protection… and the list goes on, regardless of what we are going through at the moment. Most importantly, we have a relationship with a God that is above any circumstance. The Bible states in 1 Thessalonians 5:18, “Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” God always has a plan, He does not make mistakes in anything that He does.

Super means “above”, and when we say “super-natural” we are saying it is above nature, above the natural circumstances. Thanksgiving is THE true way to supernatural happiness, the way to understand and experience God’s supernatural love, because giving thanks produces the supernatural gift from God, joy. We are often not joyful and happy because we are not thankful.

An attitude of Thanksgiving isn’t just saying “thank you”, it’s singing and praising HIM for what He has blessed us with, “Praise the LORD. Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.” (Psalm 106:1). There are plenty of references throughout the Bible of praising the Lord with thanksgiving with singing and rejoicing, and a glad heart! When we have an attitude of thanksgiving, we don’t look at what we don’t have, what we need, or what we want. We appreciate and give thanks for what we have, both physically and spiritually. Being thankful will give us strength to persevere and encourage others around us.

It is easy to let fear, uncertainty and doubt fill our heart and steal our focus from the amazing time we are living in. Many seemingly bad things are happening all around us, but at the same time, many great things make this time unique and exciting. In the midst of turmoil, we need to remind ourselves that the God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel is still the same God that is true to His word and His principles. When many people, even strong believers, waver in their commitment to God’s word and lose focus, we need to keep thanking God for what He is doing. Israel has been restored, the dry bones are returning to the land and being revived!

Romans 8:18-21 says: “I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God.”

There is a supernatural work being done in us as we persevere in this difficult time, standing for truth, love and justice. This commitment is also a commitment to the work God is performing in Israel with the chosen people He is bringing back and restoring from the four corners of the earth. This is the purpose of LoveIsrael.com – to allow Christians to stand with God in the work that He is doing in this precious land. Our projects are opportunities to show our support and pray with knowledge for the various needs of the chosen people.
